It is not difficult to predict that preparation will be something to keep in mind for success in the first week of work.

Start by rewarding yourself with a break when finishing one English teaching job in Vietnam and getting ready to start another – This is what you should do when you want to cross the threshold of the employer with enthusiasm and confidence, rather than feeling exhausted and too tired. The schedule should also have time to rest,  vacation or simply take a walk around your home.. Use part of your time to think about the role you are about to begin, what might happen in the first week and what kind of information you need to get started.

Do you have a good idea for a new company culture or do you need to research it too? Make a real exam plan for the first day – What materials do you need to bring with you, what training courses or inspirations do you need and who do you want to meet?

2. Be on time

It’s a huge mistake to be late on your first day of a new English teaching job in Vietnam, so do whatever you can to make sure you won’t be late – or even that you need to be a little early.

Look ahead to the routes you will take to the new office, especially if it is different from your previous workplace, and consider contemplating time for any incidental delays. If your new workplace has several locations or branches, make sure you get to the right place. Because you certainly won’t get a good impression when you arrive at the wrong address.

4. Calm

Always remember that everyone was new at some point, so you will have to go through a similar process as everyone else in the company.

Accept that you might feel out of place for the first week, as well as the fact that you don’t know everyone and you don’t know where you should be. But avoid putting pressure on yourself to fit into the beginner position and start learning everything slowly.

The calmer you are, the more friends you will pass this time, you should also be in a good position when people want to introduce themselves to you.

5. Maintain a positive outlook

Of course, you will be able to say things that are not right and make mistakes in the first week of work, which is great if you spend an hour doing simple things like finding some photocopies and one extra copy – This is the average for the training course when you start the job.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help and don’t turn down offers – all these steps will gradually help you gain confidence and a better sense of work. If you make a mistake, smile, take note of the best way to avoid repeating that in the future, and continue a new working day.

6. Dress appropriately

The way you dress will make a big part of what your boss and colleagues think of you. The way you dress also affects the way you behave, both during the first week and after that. Please choose office clothes more professionally.

Remember to pay more attention to the little details – shiny shoes, well-groomed hair, manicures, and jewelry. The impression you want to create for others is comfortable in the office and also willing to go out to meet other customers.

7.Write lots of notes

Unless you have a superlative memory, the vast amount of information will be overwhelming that you will almost face in the first week. Therefore, take note of everything, from what your colleagues’ names are, where the relevant departments are, etc. This may be a bit troublesome but it will be more helpful than asking the same questions over and over again.

You may think the first week of a new job is a scary thing, threatening your development but actually it is a good opportunity to prove that you are a professional and capable employee. . The enthusiasm, modesty and above-mentioned notes will help you end the first week of work with a sense of pride and excitement.
